The solar system of Aylendyl is made up of five planets. Aylendyl is the third planet from the sun. It is slightly larger than Earth and has a slower gravitational rotation. It takes 36 hours for one revolution of the planet on it's axis. The day and night cycle is roughly 18 hours. Aylendyl take 400 days to orbit around it's sun. Aylendyl's axial tilt is at 28 degrees with the northern pole tilted closer to the sun.
The sun of Aylendyl has no name, but it is a yellow star similar to Earth's Sol. It s the only planet with three moons. The largest planet in the Solar system is the 5th planet. It is a gas giant of relative size to Neptune. It has 17 moons and a faint planetary ring.
There are two comets that are currently orbiting around the solar system. The more frequent is the Wanderer which passes Aylendyl every 100 or so years in the spring months. On a more extreme orbit is the Banner comet that passes by every 500 years and can be seen by the naked eye day or night as a whitish- blue streak across the sky.

My thoughts on the planet as supported by fragments of text discovered from the ruins of Calthendris
When the Mavwren came to Aylendyl, the planet had a more extreme axial tilt causing the south pole to almost never get any sunlight. It is not known how they changed Aylendyl's axial tilt nor how they re-positioned the continents into a favorable alignment. There is evidence to suggest that Aylendyl originally only had 2 moons and that the Mavwren created a third in order to cause the seas to be too treacherous for easy travel.
It is clear they wanted the continents kept separate for less mingling of the inhabitants, but there is no supporting evidence as to why this is.
